Responsibilities of Software Development Head

• Provide overall technical leadership for the software development team
• Implement fundamental concepts, industry best practices and procedures
• Responsible for daily communications to management and internal organizations regarding the status of all assigned tasks. Develops accurate task definition, estimates, and task schedules for own assignments.
• Manage the day to day operation of the development team
• Internally project manage on-going projects
• Responsible for preparation and maintenance of problem logs (issue logs) and communicates log status to analysts or users
• Participates with Business Systems Analysts in the business design (requirements definition) and technical design (external design) of end-user applications systems.
• Assists with the implementation of new systems including the integration of the new system.
• Assists in verifying installed systems to ensure that they adequately meet user requirements
• Prepares and maintains program and system documentation using established department standards and methodologies
• independently resolves day-to-day problems within the business segment; involves and guides other team members in problem-solving efforts.
• Stays abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the software development industry
• Leading technical discussions, code reviews, solution documentation, team mentoring, and defining overall best practice
• Anticipate and react to major technology changes to ensure the maintenance of company leadership in the competitive landscape
• Develop, track and control the development of annual operating and capital budgets for purchasing, staffing, and operations
• Keep abreast with statutory compliance and IPR requirements and norms
• Build and manage a technology team and oversee research and development, as well as project management.
• Establish technical standards and ensure adherence to them for product development and company operations
• Continually deliver new products and enhancements in close collaboration with Marketing, Business 20 Development and Operations Strong domain knowledge of Payment processing
• Past experience working with transactional-based solutions
• Sound knowledge of EFTPOS terminal development experience preferably with multiple EFTPOS terminals covering Verifone, Ingenico, Gemalto, Hypercom, etc.
• Extensive experience in building & deploying large multi-tiered payment solutions
• Strong project management and product management skills
• Previous experience of start-up to stealth
• Strong C/C++ programming skills
• Good XML/JSON knowledge
• Knowledge of Financial and message encryption methods
• Hands-on experience of SQL database - SQL Server, MYSQL and POSTGRESQL
• Experience in testing banking / EFTPOS terminal applications.
